Elon Musk Faces Scrutiny Over Past Immigration Status Amid Political Spotlight.

Elon Musk has gained significant attention for his outspoken views on immigration since visiting the US-Mexico border in 2023. After voicing support for Donald Trump, the tech mogul has become a regular participant in online political discussions, especially on X (formerly Twitter), which he acquired nearly two years ago. Despite Musk’s self-proclaimed “pro-immigrant” stance, he has advocated for stricter immigration controls, igniting debates as immigration remains a key issue for many voters.

Kimbal Musk’s Remarks on Their ‘Illegal Immigrant’ Status Resurface

During a 2013 interview at the Milken Institute Global Conference, the Musk brothers recounted their journey from South Africa to Canada, and eventually to the United States. The resurfaced clip shows the siblings discussing their struggles to secure funding for Zip2, a company Elon founded in 1995.

Kimbal Musk remarked on their difficulties, saying, “When they did fund us, they realized that we were illegal immigrants.” Elon, attempting to clarify, responded, “Well, I mean…,” only for Kimbal to reaffirm, “We were illegal immigrants.” Elon then described their status as a “gray area,” prompting laughter from the audience.

Immigration Remarks Fuel Debate as Election Nears

Although the Musk brothers’ comments from the 2013 interview went largely unnoticed at the time, they are now attracting attention, particularly with the US presidential election approaching. As a prominent supporter of the Republican nominee, Musk’s previous statements have sparked widespread debate, especially on social media. Critics have called out the billionaire’s past immigration status, highlighting the irony of his stance on current immigration policies.

Over the weekend, a user on X reshared the video with the caption, “Elon Musk’s brother admits for a time he and Elon were illegal migrants getting money from investors and working without a work permit, which is a FEDERAL crime. But MSM doesn’t EVER say a word while Musk condemns legal Haitian migrants. Deport Elon!”

The resurfacing of this clip has only fueled the ongoing debate about Musk’s position on immigration, as his past experiences now contrast sharply with his public comments.
