In a major effort to boost tourism and attract foreign investment, the Pakistani government has introduced visa-free entry for travelers from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Under the new policy, citizens from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can now enter Pakistan without needing a visa. They are permitted to stay in the country for up to 90 days.
The government has directed immigration authorities at all airports to implement this policy effectively.
Furthermore, travelers from 120 other countries will be granted entry under a visa grant notice. On July 8, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that these visa reforms are aimed at easing access for foreign investors, business professionals, and tourists.
Sharif highlighted that the new measures will enhance tourism, stimulate foreign investment, and boost trade. Businesspeople, investors, and tourists from 126 countries will be able to obtain visas within 24 hours through an online system. Additionally, visa fees will be waived for traders and tourists from these countries.
These reforms are expected to make Pakistan a more appealing destination for international business and tourism.
