Xi’an Provides 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit for International Visitors

by Hyacinth

Xi’an, the historic capital of Shaanxi province, is now included in China’s 144-hour visa-free transit policy. This policy applies to 36 other entry ports across the country, allowing travelers from 54 nations, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, to visit Shaanxi without a visa for up to 144 hours, or six days. To qualify, travelers must have valid international travel documents and onward tickets to a third country or region.

During their stay, eligible visitors can participate in various short-term activities, such as tourism, business meetings, family visits, and cultural exchanges within the region. For travelers from countries with mutual visa waiver agreements with China, those rules will take precedence.
