Across the nation, in courthouses, convention centers, and sports arenas, thousands of immigrants are becoming new U.S. citizens each week, gaining the right to vote just in time for the upcoming presidential election.
While it’s uncertain how many of these new voters reside in key battleground states, several states crucial to either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump’s campaign—such as Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania—have significant and growing populations of voting-age naturalized citizens.
Recently, in Savannah, Georgia, individuals from 19 different countries gathered in a federal courthouse to take the oath of allegiance.
