JAKARTA: The Ministry of Law and Human Rights is actively working to restore immigration services following a system disruption at the National Data Centre (PDN).
In an official statement reported by ANTARA on Thursday, a ministry spokesperson stated, “We are currently utilizing backup data from the PDN in Batam to restore applications and data. Our priority is to resume services as quickly as possible.”
The disruption has affected operations at immigration offices, passport service units, work units, and checkpoints at airports and ports.
Despite these challenges, immigration officers are ensuring that prospective international passengers are served at airports. The ministry continues to provide optimal services to assist passengers departing according to their flight schedules and to facilitate the arrival of international passengers.
Due to the system disruption, prospective international passengers are advised to arrive early at airports to accommodate longer immigration procedures.
Passport services at immigration offices for scheduled appointments are operating normally, although one-day passport applications are currently unavailable and will resume once the system is fully functional.
“We will promptly inform the public when the PDN system is restored to normal operations,” Karim assured.
The PDN, overseen by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, remains integral to the restoration efforts.
