The Department of Immigration has introduced updated guidelines for the Student Vacation Visa Waiver Programme, aimed at simplifying travel for children of residents during summer and Christmas vacation periods from June to August and December, respectively.

Acting Chief Immigration Officer, Mrs. Nadia Demming-Hodge, emphasized the department’s commitment to efficient service delivery, outlining procedures for parents intending to utilize the programme for their children’s travel.

Parents wishing to avail themselves of the Student Vacation Visa Waiver Programme must submit the following documents to the Department of Immigration at least two weeks prior to their intended arrival for approval:

  • Written request from the resident parent for the child’s entry.
  • Proposed travel itinerary with departure dates by August 31 or January 2 as applicable.
  • Copy of the residing parent’s passport bio page.
  • Copy of the residing parent’s immigration entry permit.
  • Accommodation verification such as a lease or landlord letter detailing the rented space and occupants (note for multi-family homes).
  • Official letter from the child’s school confirming closure and reopening dates.
  • Child’s birth certificate (original or certified copy).

Requests for the programme can be submitted via email to [email protected] or in person at the Department of Immigration Headquarters.
