In British Columbia, at least 77 candidates were invited through the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). These candidates possess professional experience in sectors such as healthcare, childcare, construction, technology, and veterinary care, which are in high demand in the province. The minimum scores for eligibility varied for each draw, ranging from 80 to 120 points. The International Graduate stream targets recent graduates from eligible Canadian universities or colleges, requiring a job offer from a B.C. employer for eligibility. Moreover, this stream aligns with the federal Express Entry system, enabling the BCPNP to invite eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool to settle in the province.
Meanwhile, Manitoba issued invitations to 371 candidates through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). These invitations spanned across different streams and included an occupation-specific draw. The occupation-specific selection targeted candidates employed in occupations with high labour demand in the province, issuing 18 invitations to candidates with relevant experience. The all-program selection under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream invited 242 candidates, while the International Education Stream invited 76 eligible candidates. The Skilled Worker Overseas stream, which aims to attract candidates with in-demand skills and professional experience from abroad, invited 35 candidates. Notably, 66 of the invited candidates declared a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.
It’s important to note that each province has its own criteria and methods for selecting candidates, and therefore, comparisons of cut-off scores between provinces should be avoided. Additionally, terms such as “Invitations to Apply”, “Notifications of Interest”, or “Letters of Advice to Apply” may be used interchangeably across different PNPs but refer to the same kind of invitation.
