Representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Interior of the Government of National Unity engaged in discussions with experts from the European Union Commission regarding the pressing issue of combating illegal immigration and its associated negative phenomena.
The discussions took place during a virtual meeting, with participants including Abdul Rahman Khammada, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nicola Orlando, Head of the European Union Mission to Libya, as stated in a release on the Foreign Ministry’s official Facebook page.
The meeting underscored the imperative of collective action and the enhancement of mechanisms and tools aimed at combating illegal immigration. These efforts are to be aligned with the prevailing political and security landscape in the Sahel region of Africa, along with the attendant challenges and difficulties.
