The government has announced plans to escalate efforts against unlawfully residing foreigners from next week until the end of June, with a particular focus on individuals involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activities, the justice ministry disclosed on Friday.
A coordinated initiative involving the National Police Agency, the ministries of labor and land, and the Coast Guard will be launched to clamp down on illegal immigrants, encompassing individuals employed in the entertainment sector, unlawfully hired construction workers, and those facilitating illegal entry and fraudulent asylum applications.
“The forthcoming crackdown will be robust, targeting foreigner crimes that jeopardize public safety, activities detrimental to people’s livelihoods, and the facilitation of unlawful residence. Measures such as deportation and entry bans will be rigorously enforced,” stated the justice ministry.
Additionally, the ministry underscored its commitment to safeguarding the human rights of foreigners throughout the enforcement period.
