In recent developments, Hong Kong authorities have revealed a significant increase in the approval of multiple-entry tourist visas for Vietnamese nationals. According to reports, as of February this year, a total of 493 multiple-entry tourist visa applications have been submitted, with an impressive 490 of these applications receiving approval.
This surge in visa approvals comes following a policy report announced by Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee in October of the previous year. The report outlined a relaxation of visa rules specifically aimed at Vietnamese visitors intending to travel to Hong Kong for tourism or business purposes, offering the convenience of multiple-entry visas.
Since the implementation of this new visa policy, there has been a notable upswing in the average monthly approval rate of multiple-entry visas for Vietnamese nationals. Comparing statistics to those of 2019, the approval rate has skyrocketed, increasing approximately six-fold.
It’s worth noting that multiple-entry visas typically come with a maximum validity period of two years, allowing for multiple visits to Hong Kong within this timeframe. However, each stay in Hong Kong under this visa category is limited to a maximum duration of 14 days per visit.
