WR Immigration has announced the promotion of Josune Aguirre Gamez to Partner at the firm. With over eight years of experience, Josune has worked with a range of clients, including companies, universities, research institutions, and families, providing expert legal assistance.
Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity, Josune said she was “honored and thrilled” to take on the new role. She added that the firm has been a source of inspiration and collaboration, and she looks forward to continuing to help clients achieve their goals while advancing the firm’s mission.
Josune is a graduate of Southwestern Law School’s accelerated J.D. program and is licensed to practice law in California. She has earned recognition for her work, including being selected for Super Lawyers Rising Stars from 2022 to 2024 and being named “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers in America®. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and served on its Verification and Documentation Committee.
Reflecting on her work, Josune shared that she is particularly proud of helping clients build proactive immigration strategies, particularly during periods of rapid growth. She emphasized the importance of being forward-thinking and strategic, rather than reacting to challenges as they arise.
Josune’s personal story adds to her professional achievements. As the daughter of immigrants—her mother from Colombia and her father from the Basque Country—she has a deep understanding of the challenges her clients face. Despite her demanding career, she also balances raising two young children, an accomplishment the firm is proud to support.
