The Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs is opening the County’s second Immigrant and Refugee Welcome Center in Escondido. The new center is located at the North Inland Live Well Center at 649 W Mission Ave.
The Welcome Center acts as a one-stop service hub, offering essential resources, information, and connecting immigrants and refugees to various services. It also works closely with community organizations, hosting workshops, presentations, and providing space for these groups to deliver services.
Situated within the County’s North Inland Live Well Center, the Welcome Center is near important County departments such as Aging and Independence Services, Child Family and Wellbeing, a Family Resource Center, the Public Health Center, and the Military and Veterans Resource Center.
The County’s first Welcome Center, opened in March 2023, is located at the South Region Live Well Center in National City. Both centers were created following two years of community listening sessions aimed at identifying gaps in services for immigrant and refugee families. The Escondido center is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
