Trump Promises to Remove Criminal Illegal Immigrants from Prairie du Chien

by Hyacinth

Former President Donald Trump visited Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, where he spoke out against sanctuary cities in the wake of a violent attack allegedly committed by a noncitizen against a mother and her daughter. He vowed to “liberate Wisconsin from this mass migrant invasion” of criminals, which he described as including “murderers, rapists, and other illegal immigrant criminals.”

During his speech, Trump urged attendees to vote for him on November 15, emphasizing the importance of their votes. He was accompanied by Congressman Derrick Van Orden and Patty Morin, who is mourning the loss of her daughter Rachel. Rachel was killed by an illegal immigrant while jogging in a Maryland park. Morin appealed to Wisconsin voters to support Trump, expressing her belief that he would effectively close the borders.

“My daughter was the American mom. She worked hard and took care of her kids. Because of the open border, her life was taken away,” she said.

In the lead-up to the election, Wisconsin Right Now has reported on various cases where noncitizens have been held by ICE in Wisconsin jails for serious crimes. Some of the reported cases include:

Wilmer Yobany Martinez-Sanchez: Accused of molesting an 8-year-old child in Brown County while facing prior felony theft charges.

Nelson W. Mijango Santos: Accused of partially disemboweling a man in Madison before leading police on a dangerous chase.

Williams J A Monge: Accused of repeatedly raping a 6-year-old girl in Fitchburg, leaving her injured.

Fidel Martinez-Cruz: Accused of sexually assaulting two women in Green Bay, one of whom was a teenage girl. All these individuals have ICE detainers placed against them.

“This is insanity what’s happening to our country,” Trump said. He questioned the Biden/Harris administration’s policies that allow people with serious criminal backgrounds into the U.S. He cited statistics indicating that there are 13,000 murderers among them, based on information provided by the head of ICE.

Surrounded by posters highlighting crimes committed by illegal immigrants in Wisconsin, Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, stating that her administration has failed to secure the borders. He specifically mentioned Alejandro Coronel-Zarate, the suspect in the Prairie du Chien attack, who has been charged with holding a mother and daughter captive and sexually assaulting them. Trump labeled him a “vile monster.”

Coronel-Zarate had previously been arrested and released from the Hennepin County Jail in Minneapolis. Trump asserted that he would work to eliminate all sanctuary cities, emphasizing that citizens want illegal immigrant criminals deported.

Wisconsin Right Now has reported extensively on Coronel-Zarate’s case, highlighting that he was held for nearly three days in jail before being released, despite existing probable cause against him in another case. According to Prairie du Chien police, he crossed the border in 2023. Madison police have not clarified why he was not arrested upon his release.

Statistics show that encounters between U.S. Border Patrol and migrants crossing from Mexico reached record highs in December 2023, according to Pew Research Center. From 2006 to 2023, ICE issued detainers for over 14,000 noncitizens in Wisconsin, with half issued during Trump’s presidency, according to data from Syracuse University’s TRAC project.

Trump stated that Coronel-Zarate assaulted another woman in Dane County, emphasizing that local law enforcement does not always cooperate with ICE.

He remarked that under the Biden/Harris administration, Americans are witnessing a “betrayal of every citizen,” predicting that the country could descend into a “third-world hellhole” if current policies continue. “I won’t let it happen to Prairie du Chien,” he declared.

Trump acknowledged that some may label him as “mean” but stressed the need to protect American citizens. He criticized Biden and Harris for their immigration policies and suggested that Harris could easily close the borders through an executive order.

Instead, he claimed they authorized programs to fly in migrants, contributing to the influx of illegal immigrants. He also pointed out the significant number of migrant children reported missing under their administration.

“Four years ago, I handed Kamala Harris the most secure border in history,” he stated. Trump suggested that Harris’s recent border visit was a political move in response to declining poll numbers. He concluded his remarks by urging everyone to vote.
