Guyana & Colombia Nationals Granted Visa-Free Entry to Anguilla

by Hyacinth

Anguilla has removed the visa requirement for nationals of Guyana and Colombia, effective immediately. This significant development was announced by Anguilla’s Minister of Home Affairs, Kenneth Hodge, during a media briefing on Monday.

The decision to waive visas for Colombians and Guyanese was made during the Executive Council Meeting on June 27, 2024. Minister Hodge highlighted the move as part of Anguilla’s efforts to strengthen relationships with regional and international partners and develop a more sustainable migration policy.

“This move is in keeping with the government of Anguilla’s commitment to fostering and strengthening the relationship with regional and international counterparts and developing a more sustainable migration policy. The removal of these visa requirements marks a significant step towards improving bilateral relations, encouraging tourism, and facilitating business development,” Hodge said in a media release.

He also noted that this aligns Anguilla with the United Kingdom, which removed visa restrictions for nationals of Guyana and Colombia on November 9, 2022.

This change is particularly beneficial for Guyanese nationals, who have required visas to visit the UK’s overseas territories in the Caribbean.

Guyana is also currently in discussions with the British Virgin Islands, the European Union, and Canada to ease visa requirements for its nationals.
