On Monday, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain called on Canadian authorities to expedite visa processing for Bangladeshi nationals, particularly for students. This request comes as Bangladesh faces significant challenges, including hosting around 1.3 million Rohingya refugees, and the government seeks international cooperation to address these issues.

The appeal was made during a courtesy visit by Canada’s newly appointed High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Ajit Singh, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting included officials from Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomats from the Canadian High Commission in Dhaka.
