Kuwait has temporarily suspended its electronic visa (e-Visa) system for travelers from 53 countries. The move comes as the government works to improve and update the e-Visa platform. This means that travelers who were planning to apply for an e-Visa before arriving in the country will no longer be able to do so.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior on the official e-Visa portal, the service is currently “suspended for development and enhancement purposes.” While the ministry has not provided a specific timeline for the resumption of the service, the aim is to introduce a more modern and efficient system.
During this suspension, travelers from certain countries can still obtain a tourist visa upon arrival in Kuwait. Nationals from 53 countries and territories are eligible for this option, including Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and most EU nations, as well as several others. A full list of eligible countries can be found below.

A return or onward ticket.
A fee of 3 Kuwaiti dinars (KWD).
Travelers must also ensure they are not blacklisted by the Kuwaiti government and must register their residential address during their stay when applying for the visa.
Kuwait’s decision to temporarily halt the e-Visa service is aimed at improving the system to better serve future visitors.
